Job Description
What you will do:
Job Summary:
Convert prototype ideas into reality. This involves understanding design for manufacturing/assembly, best practices in rapid prototyping and precision manufacturing, and ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver prototypes on time and with the expected quality.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Work with design team to develop components for precision manufacturing, which are optimized for costs and lead times.
  • Implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to improve product manufacturability and reduce costs.
  • POC for external stakeholders such as suppliers, vendors, part manufacturers etc.
  • Coordinate the manufacturing and assembly team to ensure first-time-right assembly of prototypes and troubleshoot challenges involving required stakeholders. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for any manufacturing or design issues.
  • Documenting all stages of NPD and preparing SOPs for the rest of the development team.
  • Ensuring communication between design, testing and assembly teams to ensure zero delays in prototype testing schedules
Must have:
  • At least 6 years of hardware product prototype development experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for rapid prototyping
  • Strong background in DFM/DFA
  • Proven experience in on-time delivery and first pass yield
  • Experience with FMEA and root cause analysis and taking corrective action
Should have:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Worked on a product which was first of its kind to be introduced in the market
